Point of Interest
A good example of how computers and digital cameras are utilized to examine and evaluate the students' performance. The use of digital cameras allows objective evaluation, which previously has been difficult to do and encourages the students' learning initiative.

Teaching Objectives
Learn to recite, in such a way as to convey to the listeners the characters' emotions, the changes thereof, and the portrayed scenery and situation.

Lesson Plan
(1) Discuss the efforts that are necessary in order to convey to the listener the emotions of the characters. Confirm the objective of the lesson.
(2) The students shall select a part that they want to recite.
(3) A friend using a digital camera will take a video clip of the student reciting their piece. Reciprocate the act.
(4) Install the video clip of the recitations into the computer.
(5) Play the installed video clip and self-evaluate the recitation.
(6) Play the friend's video clip and evaluate the friend's recitation.
(7) The student shall set his/her goal based on the friend's and his/her own evaluation results.
(8) The student shall practice reciting, keeping one's goal in mind.
(9) When the student feels he/she has attained the set goal, the friend using a digital camera, will take a video clip of the recitation again.
(10) Install the video clip of the recitation into the computer.
(11) The student shall compare the video of the second recitation to the first to appreciate the improvement and identify future goals.

Reference
It has always been difficult to objectively grasp the students's improvements made in recitations. However, the utilization of computers and digital cameras has made it easier in recognizing such improvements. It is now possible to grasp long-term improvements by saving the recitation videos throughout the year into the computer. This technique can also be applied to such areas as gymnastics, music chorus/band, and English conversation.
